Ginny Armstrong
Music Teacher: Percussion & Piano
Dr. Ginny Armstrong possesses extensive experience in percussion performance and education including concert, world, and marching percussion. She received a BM in Education and an MM in Performance from West Virginia University and completed her Doctoral studies at the University of Iowa. In Nashville, Dr. Armstrong founded and directed the Nashville Percussion Institute, an independent studio featured in Modern Drummer magazine. She also performed with the Deep Grooves Steel Band, led by steel drum performer and clinician Mat Britain. She has performed with numerous ensembles, guest conducted, and given clinics at schools nationally, internationally, and throughout the state of Iowa. She currently directs and performs with the Pandelirium Steel Band as well as directing PanIC, a steel band course for adults in the community.
Hsin-Hui Liu
Music Teacher: Piano
Hsin-Hui Liu is a passionate performer who enjoys various musical career as a soloist, collaborative pianist, chamber musician, and educator. Liu holds a D.M.A in Piano Performance and Pedagogy (University of Iowa), a M.M. in Piano Performance (University of British Columbia), and a B.M. in Piano Performance (Lynn University). Miss Liu has won prizes in competitions: gold medal award at the Montecito International Music Festival Competition, winner of the 2012 Lynn Concerto Competition and winner of the 2012-2013 Ars Flores Concerto Competition. An advocate to the promotion of music by female composers, Liu has presented programs of all-female representation. In 2021-2022, she recorded the complete solo piano works by Austrian female composer, Mathilde Kralik von Meyrswalden which received University of Iowa's Career Impact Award. Liu is currently serving on the faculty of Grinnell College.
